Heat Treatment
Soft anneal in a protective atmosphere at 980°C for 2 hours, followed by slow cooling at 20°C/h down to 850°C. After 10 hours holding time, cool slowly down to 750°C, then air cool. Stress relieve at 600-700°C for approximately 2 hours, then slow cool down to 500°C. Harden in a protective atmosphere with pre-heating in 2 steps at 450-500°C and 850-900°C and austenitizing at a temperature suitable for chosen working hardness. Quench down to 40-50°C.
Tempering: Temper at least three times with minimum 1 hour holding time. Cool down to room temperature (25°C) between each tempering.
