Steel group: Mould steels
Properties: Standard mould steel with sulphur content, very good machinability, not suitable for polishing, chatter and hard chromium plating.
Applications: Injection and compression mould cores with low surface quality and low mechanical load requirements. Mould parts for low stress mould frames. Not recommended due to low resistance to dynamic loads.

Heat Treatment
Hardening: Temperature: 880°C. Duration: 1 min. per 1 mm wall thickness.
Tempering: Temperature: see curve. Duration: 1 h per 25 mm wall thickness. Cooling: air.
Diagram note: Average values for samples dia. 25 x 50 mm long, oil hardened at 880°C. N/mm2 and HB converted from HRC.
