DIMO 2738 XH Steel

Steel name: DIMO 2738 XH
Diagram No.: 2326
Mat.No. (Wr.Nr.) designation: ~1.2738
Chemical composition in weight %: 0.30-0.40% C, <0.40% Si, 1.40-1.60% Mn, <0.020% P, <0.002% S, 1.00-1.40% Cr, 0.30-0.60% Mo, 0.30-0.60% Ni, <0.30% V
Steel group: Plastic mould steels
Properties: No data
Applications: DIMO 2738 XH is a modified version of 1.2738 according to AISI and ASTM A681. Compared to DIMO 2738, DIMO 2738 XH has, as a result of its adjusted chemical analysis, higher hardness values in the delivery condition which result in higher service lifetime of the mold even if using the steel without heat treatment.
Reference: Not shown in this demo version.

Heat Treatment
Hardening: 840 - 860 °C (1540 - 1580 °F)/oil; for low wall thicknesses air cooling or warm bath hardening at 200 - 230 °C (390 - 450 °F) are possible.
Tempering: According to required hardness (min. 1 h/25 mm (1 in) wall thickness).
Diagram note: The values in the diagram are mean values on samples, diameter 25 mm (1 in), length 50 mm (2 in), hardened at 850 °C (1560 °F) in oil.
