Steel name: UHF3 (1.2709)
Diagram No.: 2495
Mat.No. (Wr.Nr.) designation: 1.2709
DIN designation: X3NiCoMoTi18-9-5
Chemical composition in weight %: <0.03% C, <0.10% Si, <0.15% Mn, 5.20% Mo, 18.00% Ni, 9.50% Co, 0.95% Ti
Steel group: Maraging steels
Properties: UHF3 is a high-strength and high-toughness maraging nickel steel with simple heat treatment and is suitable for tools exposed to moderate thermal loads and for cold work tools.
Applications: Die casting dies for light metal and zinc alloys such as inserts and cores. Molding press die for light metal processing. Plastic molds. Cold impact pressing tools. Cold punches. Cylinders and shrink rings for cold extrusion tools or hard metal inserts. Highly stressed cold pilger mandrels for steel and heavy metal processing in the production of thin-walled tubes.
Reference: Not shown in this demo version.

Heat Treatment
Aging: 500 C. Cooling: 6 hours with cooling in calm air. This results in a considerable increase in strength.
