CMR (1.2316) Steel
Steel name: CMR (1.2316)
Diagram No.: 2505
Mat.No. (Wr.Nr.) designation: 1.2316
DIN designation: X38CrMo16
Chemical composition in weight %: 0.40% C, <1.00% Si, <1.00% Mn, 16.00% Cr, 1.20% Mo, <1.00% N
Steel group: Corrosion resistant steels
Properties: CMR belongs to the group of heat-treatable corrosion-resistant steels. This resistance against corrosion is achieved by the high Cr and low C content. CMR is suitable for processing plastics that are particularly chemically aggressive, such as PVC. Chrome-plating is unnecessary. CMR has a good polishability.
Applications: Injection molds as well as shaping extrusion dies in the processing of plastics that can release corrosive substances.
Reference: Not shown in this demo version.
