Steel group: High speed steels
Properties: Tough and wear resistant High-Speed-Steel. The additional cobalt content provides high red-hardness and tempering resistance. So this steel grade is preferably recommended under working conditions where thermal loads are existent.
Applications: For thin tools, suspect to distortion upon heat treatment, we have developed our special steel grade LO-S 3243.02 (see there).

Heat Treatment
Hardening: 1200 – 1240 °C, air /oil /gas-stream /salt bath (550 °C).
Tempering: 540 – 570 °C.
