LO-W 2885 Steel

Steel name: LO-W 2885
Diagram No.: 2554
Mat.No. (Wr.Nr.) designation: 1.2885
DIN designation: X32CrMoCoV3-3-3
AISI/SAE designation: AISI type H10A
Chemical composition in weight %: 0.32% C, 3.00% Cr, 2.80% Mo, 0.50% V, 2.80% Co
Steel group: Hot work tool steels
Properties: Hot-Work-Steel with high hot tensile strength and good thermal conductivity. The tools may be strongly water cooled. Compared to Mat.No.1.2365 (AISI type H-10) this grade offers due to its additional Co-content a improved tempering resistance and hot tensile strength.
Applications: Is used for die-inserts on forging presses, heavy-metal diecast-dies, heavy-metal extrusion dies, piercing mandrels, strongly water cooled tools on Hatebur forging presses.
Reference: Not shown in this demo version.

Heat Treatment
Hardening: 1000 – 1050 °C, oil /gas-stream /salt bath (550 °C).
Tempering: 580 – 620 °C.
