356Q steel: 0.32-0.38% C, 0.15-0.35% Si, 0.65-0.80% Mn, <0.025% P, <0.020% S, 1.50-1.60% Cr, 0.20-0.30% Mo, 1.50-1.60% Ni, <0.10% V
Steel group: Alloyed steels
Properties: 34CrNiMo6 is a quenching and tempering steel with high strength, high toughness and good hardenability.
Applications: Used for large axles, machine components, tools and high strength fasteners. The steel can be induction hardened and it is weldable under certain conditions. Through hardenability to appr. 100 mm diameter bar with oil quenching.

Heat Treatment
Hardening: 820-850 C, oil.
Tempering: 540-680 C, air.
Diagram note: Ms=315 C, Ac=725 C, Ac3=785 C.
