20MnCrS5 Steel
Steel name: 20MnCrS5
Diagram No.: 1521
DIN designation: 20MnCrS5
Chemical composition in weight %: 0.10-0.15% C, 0.15-0.35% Si, 0.40-0.60% Mn, max. 0.020% P, 0.005-0.010% S, 1.35-1.60% Cr, 3.25-3.75% Ni, max. 0.15% Mo
Steel group: Case hardening steels
Applications: Case-hardening steel with low carbon content but good hardenability reaching good wear resistance due to high surface hardness after hardening. The small grain size benefits in good ductility and fatigue strength. Suitable for gearboxes and axle gears.
Comment: Ms=395 C, Ac1=694 C, Ac3=806 C.
Reference: Not shown in this demo version.
