MnS inclusions in X20CrMoV12-1 creep-resistant steel - Demo record
Table 1: The chemical composition of X20CrMoV12-1 creep-resistant steels in weight percent.
Figure 1: a) Elongated inclusion after hot rolling in as received specimen in longitude direction, b) backscattered image of a micro-pore in centrifugal direction; 1, 2) EDX spectrum of particle inside pore and surrounding, respectively. Scale bars: 200, 10 µm.
Inclusion name: MnS
Record No.: 1851
Inclusion formula: MnS
Inclusion type (Macro/Micro/Nano): Macro, micro
Inclusion type (Exogenous/Indigenous): Indigenous
Inclusion classification: Sulfide
Inclusion composition in weight %: No data
Sample: X20CrMoV12-1 creep-resistant steel
Steel composition in weight %: See the table 1.
Note: In the present study, X20CrMoV12-1 was investigated. The materials were taken from pipes produced by the Vallourec & Mannesmann Company. The chemical composition of this steel is shown in the Table 1.
Figure 1 shows a micrograph of a polished specimen before creep testing (initial material state). Elongated micro-pores are visible in the longitudinal direction of the pipe. Figure 1 is a back-scattered SEM image of one of the micro-pores in centrifugal direction of the pipe. The EDX spectrums of the particle inside the micro-pore and the surrounding matrix are shown in Figure 1 (1 and 2 respectively).
