Note: This defect is shown in Fig. 1. It appears as a matt smudge on the sheet surface and results
from the sticking of the sheet surfaces during annealing. The actual cause is the annealing temperature, and sticking is aggravated by smooth surface and any local pressure caused by bad shape, trapped edge scrap, scabs, etc., or badly shaped bases.
