Etchant (Electrolyte) Composition: 1 ml HF, 30 ml HNO3, 30 ml lactic acid.
Procedure (Condition): Swab sample up to 30 s. Decomposes readily, do not store. 2 ml HF used for alloy of Ti and 10% Sn (Lenning and coworkers).
Note: For outlining and darkening hydride in some Ti alloys.
