Etchant (Electrolyte) Composition: Solution a: 250 ml H2O, 140 ml HNO3, 100 ml molybdic acid. Solution b: 960 ml H2O, 400 ml HNO3. Solution c: 100 ml glacial acetic acid.
Procedure (Condition): Add solution a in solution b (never solution b to solution a) and let precipitate, then add solution c. Swab sample until desired contrast is obtained. Alternate method to make etch: dissolve molybdic acid in water, add ammonium hydroxide, filter, then add solution b only.
